New Delhi: Allu Arjun is one of the most well-known actors of the south film industry. Making his debut with ‘Gangotri’ in 2003, Allu Arjun has come a long way with several blockbuster hits like ‘Arya’, ‘Yevadu’ and ‘Parugu’ in his kitty.
The actor further cemented his status as a pan-India star with his film ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ that worked wonders at the box office, earlier this year.
‘Pushpa- The Rise’, headlined by Allu Arjun, went on to become one of the highest grossing movies of all time, with the superstar and his performance being the biggest highlight in the entertainer. Despite being released alongside big ticket Bollywood and Hollywood films, the movie went on to gross over 350 crores globally. The Hindi version of ‘Pushpa-The Rise’ alone went on to make over 80 crores, which is evidence of the actor’s star power and appeal.
The film’s mania was further fueled following its OTT release with many people returning to theatres to savour the cinematic experience of the magnum opus in a cinema hall. The picture successfully ran in theatres for 50 days at a time when theatre chains were fighting to get back on their feet.
Everything Allu Arjun was a part of, whether it was the movie’s songs, the character’s looks, or the memorable dialogues, went on to influence millions worldwide and broke the internet at every turn. Such was the craze for the superstar and his character in Pushpa that, in addition to the greatest stars, sports legends like David Warner, Hardik Pandya, Dwayne Bravo, Suresh Raina, and many others jumped on the fad.
At the Filmfare South Awards, Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa took home a complete sweep as well as the award for ‘Best Actor’. The same thing happened at the 10th South Indian International Movie Awards, where Pushpa won the most awards while also earning Arjun another award for ‘Best Actor’.
The performer, who earlier this year won the title of ‘Indian of the Year’ for launching a fresh wave of pan-Indian films, was recently acclaimed as GQ’s Leading Man on the cover after winning the honour at the most recent Men of the Year awards.
Fans are eagerly anticipating seeing Arjun reprise his iconic role in ‘Pushpa 2’. The film starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in key roles, is already in the making and will hit theatres in 2023.
